    Disaster Recovery Program Manager


    With general direction and considerable latitude for independent judgment and discretion, this position will be primarily responsible for ensuring the entire IT department is fully prepared to respond and recover from any disaster that may impact the IT infrastructure and platforms.


    This position typically performs work in a corporate or field location and reports to an IT Manager or Director.  This position also works collaboratively with Server Team, Network Team, Product Development and QA, Information Security, business testers as well as external facing Clients to demonstrate our Disaster Recovery (DR) capabilities.


    1. Responsible for Disaster Recovery planning, risk assessment, testing and ongoing process improvement.
    2. Serves as the Disaster Recovery Manager ensuring that the Recovery Point Objective (RPO) and the Recovery Time Objective (RTO) for multiple different enterprise SaaS platforms are met in testing to include actual failovers to ensure readiness in the event of an actual declaration.
    3. Coordinates all testing with IT QA teams and business units to validate functionality of systems brought up in the DR environment.
    4. Documents all DR tests, processes and procedures.  Meets with clients to demonstrate WageWorks DR Capabilities and answer all questions related to our DR program.
    5. Conducts risk analysis to identify critical operations and systems that are core to continued business operations in the event of a disruption. 
    6. Coordinates with the technical server and network teams to ensure all components of these critical systems are properly replicated to the DR data center.
    7. In the event of a disaster, the role would provide guidance and support to the IT Leadership team to ensure that a successful recovery with minimal business impact is executed.
    8. Develops and deploys training, documentation, and communication of IT disaster procedures to the organization.
    9. Develops service level recovery standards and agreements with vendors.
    10. Guides and provides work direction to a team of IT subject matter experts as their roles pertain to Disaster Recovery.
    11. Owns the IT Disaster Recovery Plan ensuring that it is suitable, workable, maintained and updated to reflect all relevant changes across the entire IT estate. In addition, provides and maintains agreed DR standards.
    12. Performs Business Impact Analysis of IT systems, documents, highlights and provides guidance to manage risks and single points of failure identified; provides guidance to service owners regarding controls and mitigation.


    1. Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.


    The ability and skill to lead an Enterprise Disaster Recovery program as described as normally obtained through a minimum 5 years’ experience in IT Operations with specific experience in Disaster Recovery and BCP.

    • 5+ years working in a VMware virtual environment
    • 1+ year in disaster recovery planning and management role
    • 1+ year of experience with Site Recovery Manager and/or Zerto
    • 1+ year of experience writing technical documentations


    • Knowledge of Disaster Recovery procedures, BCP, SAN replication, VMware replication and Site Recovery Manager is also required.
    • A strong customer service orientation is essential.
    • Demonstrated ability to adapt to the changing demands of business is a must.
    • Proficiency with business and communications software (preferably Word, Excel, PowerPoint, common Windows operating systems, and Outlook) is required.


    Occasional overnight travel consisting of multiple days away to attend training or meetings may be required. 


    Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent combination of education, work experience and/or knowledge of IT infrastructure, Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning.
